Total eclipse of the sun

So the 2017 eclipse had a path of totality that came right over Idaho Falls.
At first, I didn't really know that this is a big deal. But, oh my goodness, it is!! Three of my brothers decided to come to Idaho Falls, because my parents are nice enough to let everyone stay at their house. So, by default, I was in charge of the family reunion at my parents house! We had a fabulous time!

The sprinklers were set to go off every night at like 6:30 at my parents house. This made the kids decide that they would rather run through the sprinklers than eat dinner, because, of course!

Instead of putting on swimsuits, they opted to take the clothes off!

 Watching the eclipse coming
Willie was hanging out inside while we were outside watching the eclipse

So interesting to see the different shadows while the sun was being covered

We went to Taylorview Jr. High to see the full sunset. So very cool.

Okay, so it was way cooler than I ever expected it to be. At first, I was just excited to have my brothers come play with us. But, seriously, it made me an eclipse chaser. I'm pretty sure I will be at the next solar eclipse! Seriously! It was also so very fun to see all the cousins playing together! So much fun!

Summertime 2017!

We love the summer!

We love playing outside--it doesn't matter if it's the sandbox, or digging up bugs, or the hammock at our friend's house. We just love outside!
We love to go to the zoo! We especially love it if we go with our best friends!

And we love to go to the circus! Because, why not? It's so fun!

We also love to go to baseball games! This year, we remembered to take swimsuits to play in the hottub! Reagan would get in the hot tub, then get out and eat a chip, then go back and wave to me on her way back into the hot tub. It was very cute!

Summers are the best!!

Summertime

With fall starting, I am getting sentimental about the summer. Yes, for a couple of weeks every summer, I hate our house because it does not have built in Air Conditioning. But I also love that kids go outside to play when they get bored. And that I can open the windows when it's cooler outside to get some relief. And that kids ride their bikes past our house every now and then. And that I can go outside without bundling myself up. Yes. I love summer. Here are some fun things we have done:

Trains are always the best:
At Rigby Lake with the Activity Day girls and our best friends:
 At a baseball game:
Mom forgot to pack the swimsuit, like she usually does. #momfail:
So Davis stuck his head in a hot tub:
Making cool hats at the library with friends:
Talking on the phone at Daddy's work:
Playing in the pool with friends:

Reading books with Casey and Hilary:
Going to the summer movies, and actually WANTING to be with mom's friend! Yahoo!:
An exploding blender. Pretty sure I will find things around my kitchen for years, perhaps decades, to come:
Going to Bear World with my family. There was a train there, so Davis HAD to ride it:

Playing with trains at the cabin. Do you sense a theme to Davis's life?:
 Giving hugs to Grandma:
 At Mesa Falls:
 Walking with Grandma:
Watching the Olympics. We were sick that week, so clothing was not happening:

Reagan got a new car seat. She loves that it's like her brother's, and that she can buckle it every time. So cool. We also love that she can sit up and see out the window!:
