Little girl's nursery

Well, less than two weeks until due date!  I finally have the finishing touches done on Reagan's nursery!

This was a little project that I have had in mind for quite a while. . . probably since we found out that she is a girl!
Things that are different about this pregnancy than my last:
  • Weight--I was much heavier starting the last pregnancy, so I gained more weight too.  On this one, I have not been as heavy, which is a very good thing.
  • Jumpier legs--leg jumping has tormented me a lot during this pregnancy!
  • Feeling the baby--because my placenta has been placed differently, I have felt her a lot more and a lot sooner than I felt Davis
Things I hope are different with this baby:
  • Breastfeeding--I hope I am successfully able to breastfeed Reagan.
  • Calmness--I feel like I am a lot better equipped with understanding of how babies work, and will be able to be a lot more calm with this one.
  • Swaddling--It seems like a good idea.  Davis did not like the idea.  But I think I will be much more of an "assertive swaddler" with her.
We are pretty excited to have a new baby at our house!

Two years old!!

Our little Davis is not so little any more; he is two years old! Just in the last few months, he is getting to be so much fun!
For his birthday, we had about 4 different present unwrappings, and lots of fun!  We went to story time on Thursday, then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to play with them.  On Friday, we met friends at Chick-Fil-A and played in the play area and had lunch and opened presents again!  Birthday dinner was homemade Macaroni and Cheese with homemade Pumpkin Bread.
When it is your birthday and you ask for a cookie for breakfast, Dad will give you an Oreo cookie!

 First day of present unwrapping

And he got a great book.  That ended the first session and kept him busy for a long time!

The second present unwrapping.  He got snow pants, a coat, and boots.  He practiced walking in his new outfit for a while and loved it!

At Chick-Fil-A with Mommy and Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, Great Grandma and Grandpa, Chase, Joni, Alvin and Clark, and Marcela and Damian.  This place was chosen because of the play area, which is a lot of fun!  We also had the third present unwrapping here, but then had to play in the play area!

We then went home and opened the gift from Grandma and Grandpa and loved it!  It was a little Fisher Price farm, which is his favorite!
Things I want to remember about Davis at two years old:
  • He is so sweet and so excited to have a baby girl join our family!  He will be a "bee ba," or a big brother.
  • He is getting so good at talking, toddler style.  Like my parents say, he talks in complete sentences.  The trick is getting to the point where we understand the whole sentence, but it is getting easier:
    •   "Mi Mi" means "Excuse me." It is used any time he needs to get by or if he "tooted," which means toots or burps.
    • "Wa Wees" means "water."
    • "Ba na," means "Banana."(Because, really, there are way too many letters in that word)
  • He loves to go "bye bye."
  • He loves to read books and gets to have "two books" to go to bed with every night.
  • He thinks it is pretty cool to have a big boy bed, and especially loves to be able to come into our room in the morning and ask to get "up, please" in our bed.
  • Pretty much every day, we have a conversation where he tells me that he is happy.
  • He LOVES my iPad.  The iPad's name is "Animals," and he loves to play the animals game or the drawing game, which he calls, "Color."
  • He loves anything having to do with any kind of animals.  He knows pretty much what all animals say.
  • He can run really fast, and is the best jumper ever.  We have heard that he gets the best vertical of anyone in nursery!
  • All big trucks, buses, or bulldozers are trains, and make the sound, "Choo choo."
  • He gives the best kisses, which means that he puts his mouth on your cheek.
  • He loves to go outside, and will go anytime it is allowed.
  • He loves nursery, and is good friends with the nursery leaders.
  • Whenever he does something that results in one of his favorite things being taken away, or being moved, he begs to have it back by saying, "I sawy."
Oh, how we love this little boy!

Our fancy camera is in the shop, so here are the photos we could come up with . . . .

 The best part--the closet!!
We still have a few touch-ups to do, and some decorating, but IT IS DONE!!  WA-HOO!!

We will love this room even more when Reagan arrives!

Remodel phase8

Have not posted this in a while!  But here we are!  I am not sure exactly what phase 7 was, so I will move onto phase 8:

TRIM!!  YAY!!

Chris did the trim on the closet twice.  Because it looked bad the first time!

It is amazing how much better this place looks with trim!

Seeing the baby!

I went for a doctor's appointment today and got another ultrasound!  I love these!  It is so fun to hear a heartbeat and to see her little body moving around!  I could seriously listen to the heartbeat all day!

Here are the pictures:
Her chest cavity
 She is still a girl!
 Her sweet profile!
We are so excited to meet this girl in December!

Visitors!

We love visitors!  Especially if they are our parents, we love them even more!  Chris's parents came to visit two days after my parents went to South Africa.  We just don't like Davis to be without grandparents for very long!
We had a great time with them, and all got spoiled rotten!  Matt came for the weekend, and we went to Yellowstone National Park with everyone.  It was fun, but unbelievably cold for going in August!
Here are some pictures of the fun:

This is Davis waiting patiently for Grandma and Grandpa to get off the plane.  Ok, right after I took this picture, he had to run around the airport a little bit.

We went to mutual on Tuesday night at the park nearby.  Chris and his parents decided to bring Davis to the park as well, and it suddenly DUMPED rain.  We went back to the church, and Davis was shivering, so we used some towels to warm him up.

And here we are in Yellowstone:

Someone needed to get our and walk when we got out at this spot.  He played the game of putting arms in the air.  It is funny how much slower this outing became with him out of his stroller!

We had to get out of the car a lot, and run with Grandma, or splash in puddles.  This is life with a toddler!

On our way home, walking with Grandpa:
Grandma and Grandpa took us out to eat at a yummy seafood restaurant in town.  Davis loved the alfredo noodles!

He also loved playing with his Grandpa and the computer.  That is pretty much his two very favorite things of all time!
We loved having Chris's parents come and visit and hope they come back soon!
