This morning, Davis's hair looked very long. I decided that he needs to look handsome for church tomorrow. So, we took a trip to Dollar Cuts and got looking handsome! Here are some pictures of the event:
Looking cute, and loving the little apron, and the fact that he felt so tall in the seat
And then the scissors and clippers came out. Not impressed.
But this is the final result: SO CUTE!!!

9 month stats
Before I forget:
We went to see the pediatrician today, and he had nothing but kind words to say about my parents and grandparents. He is in Grandma and Grandpa's ward. He said that Grandpa was the reason he decided to come to Idaho Falls. Thanks, Grandpa!
Things I want to remember about Davis at 9 months:
- Weight: 21.15 pounds--84th percentile
- Height: 28.5 inches--59th percentile
- Head circumference: 19.5 inches--94th percentile--FINALLY MEASURABLE IN PERCENTILE!

Things I want to remember about Davis at 9 months:
- He is a PEOPLE PERSON. There is nothing Davis likes more than being around people and "talking" to them. He makes friends everywhere we go!
- His grunt. Hilarious.
- Davis is NOT really a food person. As in, in most situations, he could take it or leave it. I kind of have to remind him to eat. :) He likes most fruits and vegetables, and we are starting to introduce meat. Carrots are bad. Rice cereal is good, as long as it has applesauce in it. If not, GROSS!! Serves me right for having a picky eater. :) My parents have no sympathy. I give him Cheerios at the beginning of every meal, but he has not figured out that they are FOOD that he can eat.
- Davis is quite proud that he can crawl and sit up on his own. He can pretty much get anywhere he needs to go, which is quite cool.
- He is content playing by himself, or playing with us. Whatever, really.
- Like I have always said, Davis would be the perfect 2nd child. One of his favorite things is to have us in his face. The closer the better.
- He loves his daddy. A lot. I mean, he loves me too, but he is with me all day, so Daddy definitely wins! Taking this picture was tricky. I didn't have my nice camera, because it is being fixed (It is coming home soon! Hooray!) I had him sitting on the couch for a brief amount of time, but he kept barreling off. So, the rest of the photo shoot was done on the floor.

Swimming lessons
Swimming lessons were so much fun! Davis enjoyed them--mostly for the social aspect. He didn't care so much about the water, but LOVED seeing the other kids and adults as well! Here are some pictures that a friend that we made at the pool sent:
We can for sure say that swimming lessons helped Davis be a little more "brave" in the bathtub, which has become one of his favorite past-times lately.
Oh, how we love this boy! He is getting to be more and more fun every day!

Summertime!
We are starting to sort of settle down into a summer routine. Part of the routine is . . . Davis crawling!
We went to the cabin for the weekend, which was blissful and wonderful. We put Davis in the new baby carrier. After trying out Timpanogos Cave, Chris said that a new baby carrier was necessary for our future happiness. So, we loaded up Davis . . .
And went for a walk around the island . . .
Towards the middle of our walk, he fell asleep . . .
Fast asleep . . .
After we got home, he had something to eat, and put a Cheerio in his hair. It is taking a LOT of practice to help this kid understand that he can feed himself. Right now, he just partly understands that he can actually pick Cheerios up. Which is better than what he could do before, which was make them bounce on his high chair.
And a shot with Mommy--just to prove that I went on this trip too!

Family reunion
Grandma Davis turned 80! We had a big party with her whole family. Before the "surprise" party, we had a get-together at Chuck-a-Rama. Here is sweet Davis, partying with Grandma!
Ruth made her a family history quilt. It is beautiful!
Then, on Saturday, we had a party with all the other cousins. Eli fell asleep with Grandpa:
Because Davis is a social butterfly, he was the only baby who NEVER fell asleep:
We went to dinner that night with family. Here are Davis and Eli interacting in their high chairs:
Then, we went up to the cabin. Davis got a lot of cousin time.
With Anna:
With Eli:
Grandma got some grandson time too.
All in all, it was a FANTASTIC week with family and babies!

Home decor advice needed!
Problem: We have a bonus room in our house that BADLY needs a redo. Like, the ceiling has cottage cheese, the walls are awful, and the blinds need refurbishing. The carpet is also awful. So pretty much everything about the room is bad.
Remember how it looked like this?
I found a couch that I love at the furniture store. I can basically custom make the couch to our own specifications:
I love the idea of a black and gray and red room.
But, we have a beautiful brown entertainment center that we love:
This is what the room looks like now.
Would the entertainment center go with the couch? Should I keep the black and gray and red theme? Or should I change it somehow? What change would I make?
ADVISE IS NEEDED!

Welcome home!
If you haven't been following me on Facebook or Instagram, here are some pictures of our home:
Davis's room. It is so cute! His light and fan are the best, but you have to see them to believe it!
Bathroom
Our room
Laundry room
SECOND bathroom
Kitchen
Spare bedroom. Visitors are welcome! Please come!
Dining room
More dining room. Yeah, this picture is pretty much Davis stuff!
This was a project I did a few days ago. When we saw the house, there were some tacky daisies in the front room/entry. They were gone when we moved in, which was obviously fine! I replaced them with some silk plants, which look SO MUCH better!
The living room. We got a new loveseat that matches our couch PERFECTLY! Yay!! The carpets got cleaned today, and the furniture people called last night to saw it was ready to be picked up. Family is coming this weekend, so the timing is perfect! This is what made me blog about our house, because I feel like it is somewhat finished. For now.
The garage
Lest you think we are all the way unpacked, here is proof that we are not. This is the bonus room, soon to be upstairs family room
And it will have a couch like this
Downstairs family room
And downstairs storage rooms! Food storage, paper goods and cleaners, and everything else!
This will someday be another bedroom and bathroom. But for now, it is just more storage!
We love our house and hope to have visitors soon!
